‘300: Rise of an Empire’ Logo Revealed

The first banner for 300: Rise of an Empire has arrived, offering a look at the film's logo. Directed by Noam Murro and produced by Zack Snyder, this official follow-up to Snyder's 300 will tell the story of Greek General Themistocles, who led Athens against Persian invaders in a battle that played out simultaneously with the Battle of Thermopylae (seen in the first film).

300: Rise of an Empire is currently slated for an August 2nd release date, but some speculate that will change in the very near future as Red 2 and 2 Guns are also set to open on that date. Hence, that is why we only see 2013 on this new artwork. September perhaps?

            They had to use the 300 name or people would be confused. This is connected to the other movie afterall and people are dumb when connecting the dots.

                          I'm starting to feel more skeptical about this project every minute that passes...

                          @narrator Agreed.

                            Why bother calling it 300 if it has nothing to do with the Spartans? The Athenians? Sure, they had a brilliant navy and kicked ass, but fans of 300 will probably remember how belittled they were. Then they'll wonder where the consistency went. By slapping "300" on the title, this is obviously a huge cash grab using the success of the first film. That and I think Miller is simply writing a sequel due to all the historians bitching about his inaccuracy, so he's trying to prove himself by writing a more accurate sequel. All in all, this is just a completely unnecessary project.
