According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Thursday announced the seven films being considered for achievement in makeup for the 77th Annual Academy Awards. The films in consideration are Miramax Pictures' The Aviator, MGM Pictures' De-Lovely, Warner Bros. Pictures' Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Sony Pictures /Revolution Studios' Hellboy, Paramount Pictures' Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, Newmarket Films' The Passion of the Christ and Fine Line Features' The Sea Inside.

Ten-minute clip reels from each of the seven films will be screened January 22nd for the Makeup Award Nominating Committee. The members may nominate up to three of the seven films for Oscar consideration, recommend a single film for a Special Achievement Award or elect to recommend that no award be given in this category. Nominations for the 77th Annual Academy Awards will be announced January 25th.
