20th Century Fox's adaptation of the Seth Grahame-Smith novel Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is currently in casting mode, with such actors as Adrien Brody, Timothy Olyphant and Josh Lucas said to be screen testing for the lead role.

Other actors such as Oliver Jackson-Cohen (Faster), Benjamin Walker (Flags of Our Fathers) and James D'Arcy (An American Haunting) are also taking part in this series of screen tests.

Timur Bekmambetov is producing and directing the adaptation for Fox, which Seth Grahame-Smith adapted from his own novel. Tim Burton and Jim Lemley are attached as producers. The story centers on America's 16th President, who becomes obsessed with slaying vampires after his mother is killed by one.

Fox has already set a June 22, 2012 release date for the 3D project, and we expect more casting news to come through in the near future.
