Alan Tudyk, who can next be seen in Transformers: Dark of the Moon this summer, is the latest actor to sign on for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

The actor will play Stephen A. Douglas in the project, who is an ally to the Southern vampires in this alternate universe created by Seth Grahame-Smith. The real Stephen A. Douglas held famous debates with Abraham Lincoln in 1858, where he was in favor of slavery. In Seth Grahame-Smith's book, Southern vampires were at the heart of the conflict that started the Civil War.

Timur Bekmambetov is directing Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter from a screenplay by Seth Grahame-Smith, who adapted his own novel.

It still isn't clear when production will start on Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter yet.
