According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is shifting dates for its Academy Awards once again, but this time the move is much less dramatic than the change that occurred this year when the Oscars moved from its traditional late March spot to February 29th.

While the upcoming Oscar show will stick to late February -- the 77th Annual Academy Awards are set for February 27th -- the Oscars will shift to early March in 2006. The Academy's board of governors has voted to hold the 78th Annual Academy Awards on March 5th.

Under its current calendar, the 78th awards would have taken place February 26th, but that also is the date of the closing ceremony of the 2006 Winter Olympics, which NBC will broadcast from Turin, Italy.
