Earlier today, ABC officially ordered Season 3 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., just a few days before the two-part Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2 finale, "S.O.S. (1)" and "S.O.S. (2)" air on Tuesday, May 12. Of course, after the finale, the long wait for Season 3 begins, but, shortly after the renewal was announced, the show's Twitter feed posted the first artwork for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3. Could there be any clues hidden within this image?

You may recall that the first artwork for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2 showcased the alien scribblings that Coulson (Clark Gregg) was obsessed with at the end of the first season. This poster shows the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo, with a bunch of bizarre technological readings of some sort in the background. We're not too sure what this means yet, but perhaps next week's season finale will offer some more insight.

Now that the show is officially coming back, one could start wondering what new characters from the Marvel comic book universe could debut this season. Among Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s second season additions were Adrianne Palicki (Mockingbird), Nick Blood (Lance Hunter), Reed Diamond (Daniel Whitehall) and Calvin Zabo (Kyle MacLachlan). What characters would you like to see surface in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3? Let us know what you think after checking out the poster below.
