We first reported on this project last June when Al Pacino first entered negotiations to star. He will portray an aging rock star who decides to turn his life around after discovering a letter John Lennon wrote to him. He sets out to track down the son (Jeremy Renner) he has never met. Julianne Moore will play the manager of a small New Jersey motel the rocker moves into.
Steve Carell was originally attached to play the son, although he dropped out last year due to scheduling conflicts. He is still attached as a producer, alongside Denise Di Novi, Jessie Nelson, and Nimitt Mankad.
Production will begin sometime between April and May of next year. Inimitable Pictures is financing, along with executive producer Shivani Rawat.
