Albert Brooks has joined what is shaping up to be an all-star cast in Nicolas Winding Refn's thriller Drive. The comedic actor/director/writer will join Ryan Gosling, Bryan Cranston, and Carey Mulligan in this upcoming adaptation of James Sallis' popular novel.

This news comes from Deadline, who revealed that Albert Brooks will be playing against type as Drive's badass heavy. The film follows a stunt driver (Ryan Gosling) who takes part-time work as a getaway driver and soon finds himself in danger. Albert Brooks will play New York mob boss Bernie Rose, a dangerous crime figure who gets transplanted to Los Angeles.

Drive is set to go into production this fall.
