Earlier this year, a new poll revealed that beloved actors Tom Hanks and Johnny Depp are America's favorite movie stars, with Johnny Depp rising from the fourth spot last year to the second spot. The actor has often gone the extra mile to delight fans, dressing up as Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean last year to surprise the young patients in an Australian children's hospital in a video that went viral. Later this month, Johnny Depp will return as The Mad Hatter in Alice Through the Looking Glass, and the actor had yet another prank under his hat for unsuspecting fans at Disneyland.

The Disney Movie Trailers YouTube page posted a new video today that showed Johnny Depp getting in his full Mad Hatter costume, to greet random visitors at Disneyland who pass by what they think is just a normal poster for Alice Through the Looking Glass. These fans get the surprise of a lifetime when this poster comes to life, with Johnny Depp watching them all from a camera posted just above this display. The Mad Hatter even offers to fit a young girl with a hat, commenting on her "wonderful cranium."

Johnny Depp returns in Alice Through the Looking Glass as The Mad Hatter, and it appears that he is in great danger! Anne Hathaway, Mia Wasikowska and Helena Bonham Carter are also back as the White Queen, Alice Kingsleigh and the Red Queen. They join the voices of Alan Rickman (Blue Caterpillar), Stephen Fry (Cheshire Cat), Michael Sheen (White Rabbit) and Timothy Spall (Bayard). We are also introduced to several new characters in this exciting sequel, including Zanik Hightopp (Rhys Ifans), the Mad Hatter's father and Time himself (Sacha Baron Cohen), a peculiar creature who is part human, part clock.

Alice Kingsleigh has spent the past few years following in her father's footsteps and sailing the high seas. Upon her return to London, she comes across a magical looking glass and returns to the fantastical realm of Underland and her friends the White Rabbit, Absolem, the Cheshire Cat and the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp), who is not himself. The Hatter has lost his Muchness, so Mirana (Hathaway) sends Alice on a quest to borrow the Chronosphere, a metallic globe inside the chamber of the Grand Clock which powers all time. Returning to the past, she comes across friends - and enemies - at different points in their lives, and embarks on a perilous race to save the Hatter before time runs out.

In Disney's Alice 2, we get an all-new spectacular adventure featuring the unforgettable characters from Lewis Carroll's beloved stories. Alice meets Time himself, and must set off to rescue her beloved Underworld friends. Directed by James Bobin, he brings his own unique vision to the spectacular world Tim Burton created on screen in 2010 with Alice in Wonderland. The film is written by Linda Woolverton based on characters created by Lewis Carroll and produced by Joe Roth, Suzanne Todd, Jennifer Todd and Tim Burton with John G. Scotti serving as executive producer. The movie will go up against 20th Century Fox's highly-anticipated X-Men: Apocalypse when it hits theaters on May 27, so stay tuned to see how this sequel fares at the box office. Until then, take a look at this amusing video of Johnny Depp surprising his fans at Disneyland.
