Robert Zemeckis Is Timeless at Warner Bros.

By Brian Gallagher — September 29th, 2010

Director Robert Zemeckis is returning to the time travel genre with a new project entitled Timeless, 25 years after he launched the Back to The Future franchise, according to Deadline New York.

Robert Zemeckis pitched the Timeless project to Warner Bros. and is currently negotiating a deal with the studio. The movie will be written by Mike Thompson. No story details were made available, other than it will be a live-action tentpole picture that will feature time travel elements.

If the deal moves forward, it will be the first live-action movie directed by Robert Zemeckis in a decade, since the 2000 Tom Hanks movie Cast Away.

It wasn't yet clear if the movie would be a 3D project. We'll be sure keep you posted with any further details on Timeless as soon as they're made available.
