The Paramount Pictures sequel Anchorman: The Legend Continues is set to start shooting in Atlanta, Georgia soon, though the production has hit a weird little snag. Wire Thieves made off with over $300,000 in wiring that was stripped clean from a warehouse being prepped for this newsroom comedy. Also stolen were four computers, though it isn't known if any Ron Burgundy production materials were being stored on their hard drives.

The burglary, which was reported on December 27, is one of several break-ins that have occurred in the area. The sport of wire pilfering has become popular amongst out of work lowlives looking to make a quick buck from the valuable copper. According to the incident report, the thieves entered through a rear garage door, using a winch to strip the wiring from the walls. A $5,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to an arrest.

A production start date has not been confirmed for Anchorman: The Legend Continues, which brings back Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, and Christina Applegate from the 2004 hit Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. We reported last month that Paramount will release the sequel in December.

Will Wire Thieves become a running gag in the film? It's very likely.
