Angelina Jolie has cast young Bosnian actress Zana Marjanovi for the lead in her directorial debut, an Untitled Bosnian War Love Story. The script, which was written by Angelina Jolie, will revolve around a wartime love story between a Bosnian woman and a Serbian man.

Zana Marjanovi broke the news to the Associated Press. The actress stated that the screenplay was "fabulous", and that she couldn't wait to work with Angelina Jolie, whom she called a "great actress and humanist".

Shooting is reported to take place later this year in both Hungary and Bosnia. Angelina Jolie is a frequent visitor of Bosnia, where she serves as UNHCR's good will ambassador. Jolie plans to only cast actors from that region, and has also signed Rade Serbedzija and Nikola Djuricko for the movie.
