It appears that Anna Kendrick's stock is soaring, both literally and figuratively. According to Variety, Kendrick has landed the female lead opposite George Clooney in Up in the Air.

Kendrick, who will be seen in a very minor part in the hotly-anticipated Twilight this weekend , managed to beat out such hot young actresses as Ellen Page and Emily Blunt for the role. Kendrick will play a "career transition counselor," or a professional firer, in the world of business travel.

Juno director Jason Reitman wrote the script, based off Walter Kirn's novel, and will direct the film as well. No production schedule was released for the film.
