Exactly one week after reporting that Sandra Bullock is in talks to appear as Miss Hannigan in Annie, negotiations have broken down and the actress will not be joining the cast.

The Oscar winner would have played the mean woman who runs the orphanage Annie and her friends call home. Ironically, Sandra Bullock was in talks for this same role back in March. Sources indicate this second round of negotiations never got past the early stages.

Quvenzhané Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild) and Jamie Foxx are still attached to portray Annie and Daddy Warbucks. Will Gluck is directing and rewriting the original script that was previously worked on by Emma Thompson and Aline Brosh McKenna.

Production is scheduled to start this fall, with Sony Pictures eyeing a 2014 release date. The studio will begin searching for a new actress to play Miss Hannigan immediately.
