In a strange turn of events, Scary Movie 4 vet Anthony Anderson has joined the cast of Wes Craven's ten-years-in-the-making sequel Scream 4. It is not known at this point what character he will be playing, but its quite possible he could be doing a straight "parody" of his Mahalik character to give the aging Scary Movie franchise a bit of brevity. Probably not, though.

This news comes from an Entertaunment Weekly article, which states that newcomer Marielle Jaffe, who first appeared in Percy Jackson & the Olympians: Lightning Thief, has also joined a cast that now includes Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, Emma Roberts, and Lake Bell.

Scream 4 will begin shooting at the end of June in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
