After driving off into the sunset with Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) at the end of last season, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) is asked to return to Star City in a new Season 4 preview from Arrow. Executive producer Wendy Mericle reveals new details about this highly-anticipated season, with footage that shows how Arrow's team has stepped up take out the influx of new criminals in Star City while Oliver has been gone. It becomes clear that they need the Arrow back. We also get a new glimpse at the main villain this season, Damien Darhk, played by Neal McDonough.

After defeating his most formidable foe to date and riding off into the sunset with longtime flame Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), Oliver Queen (a.k.a. The Arrow) left Starling City with the hopes of beginning a new life. But will Oliver ever truly be able to leave behind his past as the Arrow, and, if so, what becomes of the team he has worked so hard to assemble? Will Diggle (David Ramsey), Thea (Willa Holland), and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) be left to continue Oliver's crusade without him? And with Malcolm Merlyn having ascended to the top of the League of Assassins as the new Ra's al Ghul, is anyone really safe?

In addition to this trailer, TV Insider has a photo featuring a new addition to the show this season, Echo Kellum's Curtis Holt, a.ka. Mr. Terrific. The character is described as a tech savant and an openly gay character, who works at Palmer Tech and will be spending a lot of time with Felicity, since she is his supervisor. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed that Curtis has the same type of role as Brandon Routh's Ray Palmer, but it will still be much different.

"Curtis is someone we started talking about [in the writers room] at the end of last year, out of a desire to fill in some gaps in terms of the cast and storytelling. (He) fills the same role Brandon [Routh] filled last year, (but) no one will compare the two. It is really a different performance than Brandon's. Echo has quickly become an MVP of the cast. I think a lot of people will compare him favorably to the addition of Emily in Season 1. He has this wonderful energy."

New characters slated to debut in Season 4 include Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk, Alexander Calvert as Anarky, Echo Kellum as superhero Mister Terrific and Jimmy Akingbola as the villainous Baron Blitzkrieg. Caity Lotz, whose character Black Canary was killed in the Season 3 premiere, will also make her return in a Season 4 episode of Arrow, where she will be reportedly brought back to life through the Lazarus Pit and resurrected as White Canary. There is speculation that this will happen in the same episode that Matt Ryan will guest star as John Constantine, since his character has expert knowledge of the Lazarus Pit. Take a look at the new trailer and Mr. Terrific photos below, before Season 4 of Arrow debuts Wednesday, October 8 at 8 PM ET on The CW.
