When it comes to the new Starz series Ash Vs. Evil Dead, star Bruce Campbell hasn't been shy about sharing facts with fans. Rather than keep the upcoming show's story a secret, he has given us all a pretty good idea of what we can expect. We'll get Ash living in a trailer home still working as a box boy for S-Mart when the Evil Dead return. He'll go to war against these Deadites with two new sidekicks, played by Ray Santiago and Dana DeLorenzo. And it was just announced this past week that Xena: Warrior Princess star Lucy Lawless will play Ash's advisory, who believes Ash is responsible for the recent rash of Evil outbreaks. But one fact has yet to be revealed. Will this be a crossover with the 2013 Evil Dead remake? According to Bruce Campbell, the answer sounds like a yes.

You may remember that the end credit sequence of Fede Alvarez's hybrid sequel/remake included a cameo from Bruce Campbell as Ash, which teased a team-up between him and that film's Mia, played by Jane Levy. While talking with Bruce Campbell about his new game show Last Fan Standing, we asked if there was a possibility Jane Levy will return as Mia in one of the upcoming Ash Vs. Evil Dead episodes. At first, it doesn't sound like that is a possibility. At least not in Ash Vs. Evil Dead Season 1. They plan on sticking with the original recipe for the time being:

"That's not where the stories are headed right now. Ash and a couple of other misfits are teamed-up together. In the show for Starz, which will be later this year. Mostly we just wanted to get the band back together, get the original Ash back, get Sam Raimi back, and put this on its feet. We're pretty excited. We're going back to New Zealand to shoot this, where I've done three other TV shows.

So does that mean we won't see Jane Levy return as Mia? We pressed Bruce, asking if there was a chance she would return. He says:

"Yes! I would not say no."

If they do plan on bringing Jane Levy as Mia back, might director Fede Alvarez return to direct that episode as well? While we know that Sam Raimi will direct the first episode of Ash Vs. Evil Dead, no other episode directors have been announced at this time. Bruce says that Fede is a possibility, but they are also going to utilize some of the local New Zealand talent that they've used before on Sam Raimi produced shows such as Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. About who else will be directing the show for Starz, he reveals:

"We don't know yet. We're starting to get the line-up. Fede would be a very logical choice. If that's how it comes around. We've run into a lot of good directors that I've worked with in the past on Burn Notice and Hercules and Zena. There are a lot of qualified Kiwi directors that we will be using, also. They are not household names, but we know these guys who have directed for us for years."

Lastly, we asked if Sam Raimi and Bruce really have five seasons of the series planned. He confirms that is true, explaining that this was the only way to do it:

"Yeah. You've got to have a clue. You can't just expect this to fall off the truck. You have to plan for success. You have to assume, right or wrong, that this thing is going to go for more than one season. You have to structure it accordingly. So yeah, we have a five year plan...Just in case you get fortunate enough to go five years. Then you're ready for it."

What do you think? Should Ash be left to his own devices? Or would you like to see Jane Levy's Mia make an appearance for the ultimate Evil Dead crossover? Let us know what you think!
