If the new trailer that debuted over the weekend didn't give you the Ash Williams fix you so desperately need, then perhaps this behind-the-scenes preview for Ash Vs. Evil Dead will do the trick. Series star Bruce Campbell (Ash Williams) is joined by his new co-stars Lucy Lawless (Ruby), Dana DeLorenzo (Kelly Maxwell) and Ray Santiago (Pablo Simon Bolivar). The cast and producers all discuss working with series co-creator Sam Raimi, who directed the pilot episode, while Lucy Lawless calls the show a "jolly splatterfest" and Bruce Campbell offers some insight into his beloved character

Bruce Campbell reveals that Ash has always kept his beloved chainsaw, shotgun and the Necronomicon, a.k.a. Book of the Dead for the past 30 years, but they've just been sitting on the shelf. The producers state that The Evil Dead fans will love the show because there are numerous "nods" to the original movies, including Ash's beloved car dubbed "The Classic." Ray Santiago believes that this show is actually creating a new genre for television, in the same way that Sam Raimi's movies birthed a new genre on the big screen.

Ash Vs. Evil Dead is the long-awaited follow-up to the classic horror film franchise and is set to premiere on Starz on Halloween night, Saturday, October 31. The 10-episode first season features Campbell reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons -personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its "Evil" grip.

The cast is led by Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, Burn Notice) in the role of Ash Williams, Lucy Lawless (Salem, Spartacus) as Ruby a mysterious figure who believes Ash is the cause of the Evil outbreaks, Ray Santiago (Touch, Meet the Fockers) as Pablo Simon Bolivar, an idealistic immigrant who becomes Ash's loyal sidekick, Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) as Kelly Maxwell, a moody wild child trying to outrun her past and Jill Marie Jones (Sleepy Hollow) as Amanda Fisher, a disgraced Michigan State Trooper set to find our anti-hero Ash and prove his responsibility in the grisly murder of her partner.

While we'll have to wait and see if the show is popular enough to warrant a second season renewal, Bruce Campbell teased last month that the TV series may spawn more Evil Dead movies. He has also recently said that the show has a five-season plan in place, but that all depends on how many viewers tun in for the first season. The supporting cast is rounded out by Jill Marie Jones, Mimi Rogers and Hemky Madera. Take a look at the latest preview, and stay tuned for more on Ash Vs. Evil Dead.
