Back in October, Marvel Studios announced that the Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD release of Guardians of the Galaxy will include a special preview for the upcoming Marvel Phase Two sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron. Today, Marvel has officially released a brief clip from that featurette, which shows director Joss Whedon offering new details from the set. The filmmaker teases that characters such as Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) have powers that haven't previously been seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before.

This featurette also offers brief looks at Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America) and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) in action, along with some of the massive destruction that fans will get to see in theaters next May. The story follows these heroes, who are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron (James Spader) emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

Check out this brief featurette before picking up your copy of Guardians of the Galaxy on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD on December 9. Stay tuned for more Avengers: Age of Ultron footage as we get closer to the May 1, 2015 release date.
