Marvel fans still have a lot to look forward to in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. No matter what is on the horizon though, we will always be looking forward to the next Avengers installment, which in this case is Avengers: Infinity War. We can start to officially get excited, because the movie has officially started filming in Atlanta. At least according to a pretty reliable source.

The Atlanta Filming Twitter account has posted an update claiming that Avengers: Infinity War started filming a couple of weeks ago and that certain cast members have been spotted on set. Unfortunately, the update didn't come with any photos, but the account claims that shooting started on the 7th and that he knows more, but didn't want to say anything else, as to not spoil anything. Here is all of what the account had to say.

"I think I forgot to post this, but #AvengersInfinityWar started filming two weeks ago. This is what I know: Some cast is here. Part 1 started on the 7th.Almost 0% chance I will get photos that don't look like lego people. Actually, I know a lot more than that. But, no spoilers. The set tile is grey though."

This may not be coming directly from the mouths of those at Marvel Studios, but Atlanta Filming has been very reliable in terms of reporting MCU related info in the past. Marvel has done a lot of filming in Atlanta previously, most recently on Spider-Man: Homecoming. Atlanta Filming broke quite a bit of news from that set as well, so even though this isn't necessarily official confirmation it seems like a safe bet that The Russo Brothers have started work on Avengers: Infinity War, which will be shooting back-to-back with Avengers 4, which doesn't currently have a title. At one point, it was being billed as Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Avengers: Infinity War: Part 2. That changed a couple of months ago.

Avengers: Infinity War and the now untitled Avengers 4 are going to be game changers for the MCU. Iron Man, Captain America and the gang are going to be dealing with Thanos (finally) and the Infinity Gauntlet will be in play. There will be consequences and we can assume some casualties. But who or what will ultimately be at stake? It is fairly safe to say "everything" seems like a safe bet.

There hasn't been a lot of confirmed cast members for Avengers: Infinity War yet, but we know that Josh Brolin will finally get some real screen time as Thanos and that Benedict Cumberbatch is going to reprise his role as Doctor Strange. The Guardians of the Galaxy will be showing up. It is a safe bet that pretty much anyone who is even tangentially related to The Avengers will at least show up in the movie, though. Avengers: Infinity War is set for release on May 4, 2018, with the untitled Avengers 4 set to come out a year later on May 3, 2019.
