Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures is teaming up with VICE to produce Ana Lily Amirpour's new feature The Bad Batch. The project will be Ana Lily Amirpour's follow-up to her feature debut, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, a black and white vampire drama which debuted at Sundance last year and hit theaters in November. The plot is described as, "a dystopian love story set in a Texas wasteland," although no specific plot details were unveiled. Here's what Vice's Eddy Moretti had to say about the project in a statement.

"Ana Lily is a force of cinematic nature. She inhabits that special place where the pop sensibility of the movies meets the deep sensuality of film art. It's a tricky thing to pull off - creating this kind of wildly entertaining visionary cinema - but Ana Lily is powerful, so she can pull it off."

Megan Ellison will produce The Bad Batch with VICE's Danny Gabai and Sina Sayyah, with Eddy Moretti and Shane Smith executive producing. The Bad Batch is just the latest collaboration between Annapurna and VICE, who have previously teamed up on Spring Breakers, The Grandmaster and Her. No production schedule was given for The Bad Batch, but Megan Ellison herself commented on the project through her Twitter page earlier today.
