Universal Pictures has picked up the spec script Bait and Switch from screenwriter Matthew J. O'Neil, which is being eyed as a starring vehicle for Mark Wahlberg.

No details were given on the story, except that it will be an action-comedy. Mark Wahlberg will produce Bait and Switch along with Scott Stuber, John Jacobs, and Stephen Levinson. Zac Unterman is attached as executive producer.

The project marks the first script sale for Matthew J. O'Neil, who is represented by John Jacobs' firm, Smart Entertainment.

Mark Wahlberg and Scott Stuber are also working together on Ted, which is the feature directorial debut of Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane.

Production will start soon on Ted, although no production schedule was released for Bait and Switch.
