Back in November, fans got their first look at Barbershop: The Next Cut with the release of the first trailer. As we get closer and closer to the April 15 release, Warner Bros. has released a second trailer with new footage from this comedy sequel, featuring returning stars such as Ice Cube and Cedric the Entertainer, along with new characters played by Common, Nicki Minaj and more.

It's been more than 10 years since our last appointment at Calvin's Barbershop. Calvin (Ice Cube) and his longtime crew, including Eddie (Cedric the Entertainer), are still there, but the shop has undergone some major changes. Most noticeably, our once male-dominated sanctuary is now co-ed. The ladies bring their own flavor, drama and gossip to the shop challenging the fellas at every turn. Despite the good times and camaraderie within the shop, the surrounding community has taken a turn for the worse, forcing Calvin and our crew to come together to not only save the shop, but their neighborhood.

Barbershop: The Next Cut also stars Regina Hall, Oscar winner Common ("Selma"), Sean Patrick Thomas, Eve, Anthony Anderson, Jazsmin Lewis, J.B. Smoove, Deon Cole, Garcelle Beauvais and Nicole Knight. Malcolm D. Lee, who is best known for the blockbuster hit franchise The Best Man, is directing Barbershop: The Next Cut. Black-Ish series creator Kenya Barris wrote the screenplay working alongside Tracy Oliver.

The franchise started in 2002 with the hit Barbershop, which earned $77 million at the worldwide box office from just a $12 million budget. This low-budget hit spawned the 2004 sequel Barbershop 2: Back In Business, which didn't earn quite as much. The sequel earned $65 million worldwide from a $30 million budget, and while we don't know what the budget is for this follow-up, we'll have to see if these new cast members can help revive the franchise.

Barbershop: The Next Cut reteams the producers from the first two films, Robert Teitel, George L. Tillman and Ice Cube. Malcolm D. Lee, Becki Cross Trujillo, Ronald G. Muhammed and Jeff Kwatinetz served as executive producers. Barbershop: The Next Cut opens nationwide on April 15, 2016, going up against Amityville: The Awakening, Everybody Wants Some, The Jungle Book and Criminal. Check out the second trailer below, and stay tuned for more on Barbershop: The Next Cut.
