In just a few short weeks, fans from all over the world will be descending upon Comic-Con 2016 in San Diego, to get a glimpse at some of the most highly-anticipated movies and TV shows. One of the Con's annual traditions is the world premiere of a new Warner Bros.' DC animated movie, with the studio unveiling Batman: The Killing Joke this year. While we get ready for the premiere, and its release on Blu-ray and DVD on August 2, the studio has released the first clip, featuring Batman and his iconic nemesis, The Joker.

The clip debuted during the latest episode of DC Entertainment's YouTube series DC All Access, featuring Batman (Kevin Conroy) visiting Arkham Asylum, to have a little chat with The Joker (Mark Hamill). We also get a glimpse at Harvey Dent's cell, with this villain's hand reaching through the bars to scratch at his prison cell door. We also see Batman conversing with Commissioner Gordon (Ray Wise), who doesn't think The Joker will confess, since he's insane. With the world premiere set for Friday, July 22 in Ballroom 20 of the San Diego Convention Center, it isn't known how much more footage will be unveiled between now and then.

Based on the acclaimed DC graphic novel of the same name, Batman: The Killing Joke takes an R-rated journey into the dark psyche of the Clown Prince of Crime - from his humble beginnings as a struggling comedian to his fateful encounter with Batman that changes both of their lives forever. Years later, and now escaped from Arkham Asylum, The Joker devises a plan to prove that one bad day can make anyone as insane as he is - setting his sights on Commissioner Gordon. It's up to the Dark Knight to put a stop to The Joker's latest scheme and save one of Gotham City's finest. Following a gripping prologue introducing Barbara Gordon's heroic adventures alongside Batman as Batgirl, Batman: The Killing Joke stays true to the authentic tale that has held fans' imaginations for nearly three decades - spotlighting the birth of a Super-Villain, the fortitude of a Super Hero and the punchline that will leave you speechless.

For those who won't be able to attend the SDCC screening, we also reported last month that Killing Joke will debut in theaters for one night only on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. local time. Those who attend this special Fathom Events screening will get to experience a special introduction from Mark Hamill plus a never-before-seen documentary about how Hamill was cast in this project and what the role means to him as an actor and a fan. The Fathom Events screening will conclude with a special behind-the-scenes look at how The Joker's memorable, yet disturbing song and dance number was recreated for this animated movie.

The supporting cast also includes Tara Strong (Teen Titans; Batman: Arkham games) as Barbara Gordon. Batman: The Killing Joke is directed by Sam Liu (Justice League vs. Teen Titans) from a script by Eisner Award-winning writer Brian Azzarello. Bruce Timm and Sam Register are executive producers. Benjamin Melniker & Michael Uslan are executive producers. Alan Burnett is co-producer. Take a look at this clip below, which can be found at the 3:56 mark of the video below, to get ready for the world premiere and the Blu-ray release date.
