It was recently confirmed by Ben Affleck's agent that he has written a script for the Untitled Batman Reboot. The movie hasn't been confirmed by Warner Bros. yet, but it is expected that Ben Affleck will also return to star in and direct this movie, which continues the adventures of everyone's favorite caped crusader. Before the script was confirmed, it was rumored that comic book legend Geoff Johns was co-writing the script with Ben Affleck. Director Kevin Smith, who is good friends with Affleck and has had a birds-eye-view into the production process on the entire DCEU film slate, has now confirmed that both Geoff Johns and Ben Affleck are working together.

So, how does that work exactly? Do both of these men sit in a room together, with one typing and the other spouting out ideas? No, not exactly. Kevin Smith asked this same question recently. And he got a response, sharing the answer on his Fatman on Batman podcast. He explained the process, confirming that Ben Affleck has been locked away in a room somewhere, hitting the keyboard.

"He's been working on a solo script with Geoff Johns, as well. Last conversation I had with Geoff Johns, I was like, 'Are you working on it?' and he said yeah. I said, 'What's it like, man? How do you co-write with someone?' And he's going, 'We just break it up. He takes halves and I take halves and then we write. And then we switch material. And then he goes over mine and I go over his.' That sounds so fucking fun man."

This past week, DC and Warner Bros. announced two more movies have been added to the DCEU line-up. The first movie arrives on October 5, 2018. Previous to the announcement, it was spread wide across the Internet that Warner Bros. is desperate to get the Untitled Batman Reboot in theaters by 2018 in response to the poor box office reception that faced Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. While the October 5, 2018 date hasn't been announced as a Batman movie, many believe that's what it will be revealed as.

In just the past week, it has been said that the Untitled Batman Reboot story hasn't been entirely agreed upon, but it is clear that Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns have somewhat of an idea about what it will actually be. The most prominent rumor is that the screenplay is based on the DC Comics story arc Batman: Under the Red Hood, which got a feature length animated movie back in 2010. At this time, there isn't any further information to go on. We'll just have to wait until DC and Warner Bros. make an official announcement.
