Twitter users Tim Reinman and Tim Malin have posted new photos from the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice set in Detroit, which reveal a mob of Metropolis residents calling for Superman's death!

Back in June, we reported that Jason Momoa is playing Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. While the casting still hasn't been confirmed yet, that report reveals most of the world is angry at Superman following the mass destruction caused in Metropolis during last year's Man of Steel. While we may not know for quite some time if Aquaman is actually a part of the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice story line, it's clear that rumors of the world turning against Kal-El are true.

Protesters are seen holding signs that read "Super-Death" along with a crude alien illustration, and at one point, the angry mob even set a Superman dummy on fire! One of the images includes a man holding what appears to be a Nazi swastika, but the sign is partially obstructed by another protester, so the sign could be a different symbol entirely.

The DCU Movie Page Twitter account also responded to one of the photos, pointing out that this scene resembles a story from Grant Morrison's New 52 Action Comics, where Superman is mobbed by protesters. It's unclear if Superman himself, Henry Cavill, will be on set today to interact with this mob, but you can check out the photos below from the set of Zack Snyder's superhero adventure.
