This spring's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice not only introduced fans to the new Dark Knight, played by Ben Affleck, but also Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, along with cameo appearances from the rest of the Justice League team, Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher). Concept artist Robert McKinnon shared some of his designs from Batman v Superman on his official website, which offer a look at some of his early designs for the weapons used by Aquaman and Wonder Woman. These latest images also show Superman's casket, along with an alternate take on the Man of Steel's defaced statue, with one big difference.

Robert McKinnon recently updated his profile on Krop.com, a site where creative artists can upload their portfolios, which includes several new pieces of concept art from Batman v Superman. The artwork includes alternate designs for Aquaman's trident, Wonder Woman's sword, Superman's casket and Superman's statue. In the movie, this statue looked much different, and was defaced with red graffiti that read "False God," but in this early design, Superman is seen flying, instead of kneeling, and the graffiti in this version reads "Nazi God" instead of "False God."

These images also feature early designs of the Batwing, the iconic Batsignal, the Kryptonite spear and even a rough sketch of the Gotham City skyline, complete with the Batsignal shown lighting up the sky. We don't know how early on in the production process these illustrations were commissioned, but director Zack Snyder must have enjoyed his work, since he has also come aboard for the highly-anticipated Justice League adaptation, which is currently in production and set for release on November 17, 2017.

While Wonder Woman was featured throughout Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Aquaman was only featured in a brief cameo towards the end of the film. We got our first look at Aquaman during a scene where Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne accessed Lex Luthor's files, watching underwater drone footage of Aquaman being discovered, before this hero destroys the drone with his trident. We also saw security footage of The Flash foiling a convenience store robbery and footage of Cyborg's experiments with his father, played by Joe Morton.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice earned $873.2 million worldwide at the box office this spring, which currently stands as the fifth highest tally this year. All of these DC superheroes will reunite in Justice League, which is currently filming in the U.K. and set for release on November 17, 2017.
