Earlier this month, we got a new look at the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which was first very briefly glimpsed in the first trailer. While we'll have to wait and see if the second trailer gives us an even better look at Batman's (Ben Affleck) aerial assault ship, more Batwing promo art has arrived, courtesy of El Mayimbe. While these images don't exactly show us any new details of the ship, we do get to see it from a few different angles.

Many have noticed that this Batwing is very similar to the ship in Frank Miller's classic comic book The Dark Knight Returns. It's worth noting that, when this highly-anticipated adventure was first announced at Comic-Con a few years back, actor Harry Lennix read a passage of dialogue from The Dark Knight Returns, before the official Batman v Superman logo was unveiled. In that comic, Batman is an older, more weary crime fighter, which is how Ben Affleck's Dark Knight has been described. There is still much we don't know about the story yet, but it seems that this influential comic was at least one of the references used by the filmmakers when crafting this story.

In the trailer, both the Batwing and Batmobile were seemingly operating as one, as both vehicles shot at numerous enemies in what appeared to be a warehouse or a dock. It isn't known how much the Batwing will be used in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice quite yet, but perhaps will see more of this aerial vehicle when the next trailer is released. While we wait for more footage and information regarding director Zack Snyder's superhero adventure, arriving in theaters March 25, 2016, take a look at the latest Batwing artwork below, and let us know what you think.
