Director Zack Snyder has been in post-production on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice for several months now, and we have already seen two trailers for this highly-anticipated superhero adventure, as the countdown continues to its March 25, 2016 release date. While it may be quite some time before we get a confirmed run time for the movie, producer Charles Roven revealed to Collider that they shot more than four hours worth of story during principal photography on Batman v Superman. The producer did also hint that fans may be getting an extended cut after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters next year.

"I don't know if you'll ever get the 4-hour version, but there may be something that's coming along that might be slightly less long than that."

Zack Snyder's 2013 superhero movie adaptation Man of Steel clocked in at two hours and 28 minutes, so it wouldn't be surprising if Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice comes in at around that length, or even longer, given how many characters are introduced in this adventure. Along with bringing in Batman (Ben Affleck) to battle Superman (Henry Cavill), fans will also get their first look at Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) and, according to several rumors, the rest of the Justice League, The Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher). When asked if he thinks the cast may be too large, with too many iconic characters sharing the screen, Charles Roven had this to say.

"I don't think that's an issue for this film at all. I really don't. I think that the film is called Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, so there's a reason it's called Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and not Dawn of Justice: Batman v Superman. So you're gonna invest mostly in Batman v Superman and I think that you'll find other characters in there that you hopefully will want to see more of."

Last month, director Zack Snyder revealed in an interview that the third trailer is coming soon, although he wouldn't say exactly when that may happen. There had been rumors of the new trailer being attached to prints of Spectre, which hit theaters last weekend, but that turned out to be false. Charles Roven reiterated the director's comments, stating that the new trailer will be out before the end of this year.

"Honestly, you're going be seeing something very soon. I don't know how you define soon but certainly before the end of the year, how about that?"

Warner Bros. will release The 33 on November 13 and Creed on November 25, so it's possible the new trailer could be attached to either of those projects. The studio also has two December releases, In the Heart of the Sea (December 11) and Point Break (Christmas Day). It's also possible that the studio could unveil the trailer during highly-anticipated titles such as The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 (November 20) or Star Wars: The Force Awakens (December 18), but we'll have to wait and see. What do you think about these new updates for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? Do you have any theories about when the next trailer may arrive?
