Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is easily shaping up to be one of next year's biggest hits, with legions of fans reacting positively to the new trailer that debuted at Comic-Con last month. That trailer gave us our first real look at Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor, and while he certainly appears to have a sinister agenda, the trailer doesn't exactly feature any of the heinous acts he commits during the film. Today we have a new report from Heroic Hollywood, which offers a tiny taste of the nefarious plans Luthor has in store. There will be SPOILERS below, so read on at your own risk.

While it isn't known why this act takes place, or when it happens in the story, this report claims that Lex Luthor kidnaps Superman's (Henry Cavill) mother, Martha Kent, played by Diane Lane. You may recall that, in 2013's Man of Steel, Superman engaged in a massive battle with General Zod (Michael Shannon), after the Kryptonian villain merely threatened Martha. The battle decimated downtown Smallville, so what will happen when Superman finds out Luthor kidnapped his mother?

Sadly, the report wouldn't offer any more details, except that the Man of Steel gets very mad. The site also speculates that this scene will be included in the trailers and TV spots when we get closer to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice's release on March 25, 2016, so we'll have to wait and see if this scene does in fact show up in the next wave of footage. We still have just over seven months and counting until Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice debuts, so you can bet there will be plenty of new footage between now and then.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice brings Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill) together on the big screen for the first time, in a massive adventure that will set the stage for Justice League Part 1 and Justice League Part 2. Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before.

What do you think will happen when Lex Luthor kidnaps Martha Kent in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? Will this lead to a conflict even bigger than the Smallville and Metropolis battles in Man of Steel? Be sure to check back for more on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, arriving in theaters March 25, 2016.
