The day Metropolis fell will be depicted from a whole new angle in the opening prologue for the highly anticipated superhero adventure Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The movie will bring a new perspective to all the damage done by Kal-El in his climactic battle against Zod as seen in Man of Steel. New details revealed in the next issue of Total Film confirm that we will witness everything from the POV of Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck). The magazine also brings us a text free version of their exclusive Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice cover along with three new behind-the-scenes photos.

In an interview with star Henry Cavill, Total Film got the actor to open up about the main thrust of this particular story. It will be a revenge tale, with the title battle set in place after Bruce Wayne witnesses the fall of one of his Metropolis skyscrapers, along with the death of loved ones who were killed in this devastating fight to the death between Superman and his first great enemy. About the opening prologue we'll see in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the actor had this to say.

"What happens there is one of Bruce's buildings gets destroyed and he's trying to save all the people inside the building and he can't. So he is this angry person who fears what Superman may do. Why are they just going to trust this super-powered alien? What if he does decide to turn against us?"

Ben Affleck is playing an aged and war-weary Dark Knight in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. This will be a much different superhero vigilante than we're used to seeing on the big screen. The actor went onto explain how the opening prologue in this follow-up to Man of Steel sets Bruce Wayne down a very dark path, one that is usually reserved for villains.

"He's found himself in a place of harboring a tremendous amount of rage for Superman. So it's how he got there, and what that's done to him, and what that's done to people around him like Alfred, who are, I think, very scared and worried for him. It's something that's interesting and new."

Over the course of this past year, we've heard a number of rumors that Ben Affleck will direct an Untitled Batman Reboot. That may even set up a full trilogy, along with the character's appearance in Justice League Part 1 and Justice League Part 2. While the actor-turned-direct won't confirm that he is directing, starring and co-writing a solo adventure for Bruce Wayne, he did have this to say.

"If I could make it work, yeah, Obviously that would be like a dream. The trick is, as to any movie, is to make sure that you - if you're going to direct it - that you can make it good. You've got to have the right idea and the right take on it... Broadly speaking, it's something I'd be open to, for sure. It's a very exciting idea."

In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before. What do you think of these latest details?
