As production began to heat up on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice two years ago, we got various reports on what type of villain Jesse Eisenberg is playing in bringing Lex Luthor to the screen. Rumors claimed that he was from new money, comparing him to Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network. One of the constant teases was that this Lex had his own baseball court inside Lex Corp Industries. New photos prove that true. The second trailer that debuted at Comic-Con showed Lex walking across the bullet littered floor of his destroyed offices, passing deflated basketballs. Now we see Lex standing proudly on this court, in front of his glorious neon sign, before any damage is done. It hints at a much more youthful Lex. A brat. Someone who is possibly quite immature.

That's not the only new photo we get from Empire, who are running a feature story on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in their latest issue. Following a cover that featured both title characters, there are two more new photos. The first one features Ben Affleck in his armored Batsuit. He has just pulled an old dusty tarp off his iconic bat signal, flipping the switch for the first time in ages. The signal is usually used by Commissioner Gordon, but it's not quite clear where that Gotham stalwart is at, or if he is even alive at this time. Some speculate that Bruce is calling Superman out of the sky with his bat signal, as it is usually used to bring Batman out of the shadows. This is all leading up to the big title bout between these two superheroes.

The third new photo is Henry Cavill suited up as Superman. He is dripping wet, and looks miserable. He stands in what could only be a rundown Gotham hovel, as his Metropolis is far too upscale to leave such a desolate, abandoned building standing in place. As the trailers show the big battle between Batman and Superman happening in the rain, it's expected that this is a shot from the anticipated ground war between two of DC Comics most iconic crime fighters. While it might be easy to guess that Kal-El has this boxing match sewn up, we must remember that Bruce Wayne is stepping into the ring with a Kryptonite laced mech-suit.

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before. Will the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel be able to put aside their differences and fight evil together? We sure hope so!

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice features Henry Cavill in the role of Clark Kent/Superman, with Ben Affleck introduced as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film also features Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, the first time this character has ever been seen on the big screen. Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane are returning from Man of Steel. Newcomers include Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film, playing a senator who wants Superman to be held responsible for his destructive behavior. Jason Momoa will also be making an appearance as Aquaman. Directed by Zack Snyder, written by Chris Terrio, from a screenplay by David S. Goyer, the film is produced by Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Wesley Coller, David S. Goyer and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justiceis set to open worldwide on March 25, 2016. Take a look at these three new pictures, which give us a better look at Bruce, Kal-El, and Lex.
