With production slated to begin early this year, casting is starting to heat up on Paramount's reboot of Baywatch. Just a few months after Alexandra Daddario landed the female lead role of Summer, Variety reports that model/actress Kelly Rohrbach has signed on to play C.J. Parker. Pamela Anderson became a worldwide star after playing C.J. Parker on the original Baywatch TV series. Here's what star Dwayne Johnson had to say about his new co-star on his Instagram page.

"A pleasure welcoming Kelly Rohrbach to our #Baywatch family for the iconic role of CJ Parker. Yes, she's a walking smoke stack but more importantly... she's smart, tough and funny. Just the way we like 'em. Get ready world, we can't wait to bring you our generation's #Baywatch! You'll have fun..."

Dwayne Johnson also released three videos featuring himself and his new co-star, which pokes fun at the original TV show's trademark slow-motion running scenes. The Variety report also confirms that Alexandra Daddario will be playing Summer Quinn, a character originally portrayed by Nicole Eggert. In one of the videos, Dwayne Johnson tells Kelly Rohrbach to call him Mitch, which seemingly reveals that he'll be playing David Hoff's role of Mitch Buchannon. It isn't known if his co-star Zac Efron will be portraying characters from the original TV series or not.

The story will center on Dwayne Johnson as a by-the-book lifeguard, who teams up with Zac Efron's character, a young wild card, to save their beach from the environmental destruction caused by a nefarious oil tycoon. While little else is known about the story, Dwayne Johnson teased last month that the adaptation will definitely be R rated and it is also believed to be more comedic and action-heavy than the series. Filming is slated to begin in early 2016, although Paramount hasn't set a release date at this time.

Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) is directing from a screenplay most recently written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift (Friday the 13th). Justin Malen (Bad Teacher 2) wrote the original draft of the script, with Dwayne Johnson also producing alongside Beau Flynn and Ivan Reitman. While we wait for more casting announcements, take a look at these videos with Dwayne Johnson and the new C.J. Parker, Kelly Rohrbach.
