Dark Horse Comics' Beasts of Burden will be adapted for the silver screen
Andrew Adamson (Shrek, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe) is producing a big-screen adaptation of Beasts of Burden, based on the Dark Horse Comics series.

Evan Dorkin and Jill Thompson created the comic book series, which centers on a group of dogs and one cat who form an alliance to protect their owners after a series of bizarre supernatural occurrences take place.

The project is said to be a CGI-animated endeavor, with Andrew Adamson producing alongside Aron Warner and Dark Horse Entertainment's Mike Richardson. Reel FX is putting the project together, with Jared Mass overseeing Beasts of Burden for the company.

No production schedule was given for Beasts of Burden. The series made its debut in 2009 as a four-part mini-series, which earned Evan Dorkin and Jill Thompson Eisner Awards for Best Short Story and Best Painting.
