Benicio Del Toro has signed on to play some cartel muscle in Oliver Stone's Savages. Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnson have also been locked in to play the lead roles of Ben and Chon. We reported over the weekend both actors were in talks for the lead roles, which they have now secured.

Ben and Chon are two Laguna Beach pot growers who live an idyllic life with their shared girlfriend O. Benicio Del Toro will play Lado, the enforcer of a Mexican drug cartel who kidnaps O when Ben and Chon refuse to work for them. Instead of paying the huge ransom, they hatch a plan to steal from the cartel, even with Lado breathing down their necks.

Jennifer Lawrence had previously been attached to play O, although she dropped out after landing the Katniss Everdeen role in The Hunger Games. Our last report also revealed Salma Hayek is in talks to play the head of the drug cartel, although a deal hasn't been solidified yet.

Oliver Stone will direct Savages from a script by Shane Salerno and Don Winslow, who also wrote the novel Savages is based on. No production schedule has been released yet.
