Last year, Marvel Studios famously pulled out of Comic-Con, which lead to Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox dominating the con with their superhero adventures. This year, 20th Century Fox pulled out, as both Marvel and Warner Bros. vye for SDCC supremacy this year, with both studios holding their Hall H panels today. Warner Bros.' panel starts at 11:30 AM and Marvel's panel starts at 5:30. Anyone who has tried to get into Hall H in the past knows that you almost have to spend the night outside, waiting in line, and for fans waiting outside last night, they got a big surprise from Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch.

Last night, a number of photos and videos surfaced on Twitter revealing Benedict Cumberbatch interacting with several fans waiting in line for the Hall H festivities. The actor is certainly no stranger to comic book fans, with a number of photos surfacing in April when the actor stopped by a New York City comic book shop in his full Doctor Strange costume as production was winding down on the movie. It's nice to see one of the biggest movie stars in the world taking some time out of his schedule to meet the fans in person.

While we certainly know that Benedict Cumberbatch will be in attendance for this afternoon's Marvel panel, we're not sure what other Doctor Strange cast members have tagged along. It is believed that director Scott Derrickson will be there, but we're not sure if other stars such as Tilda Swinton (The Ancient One), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Baron Mordo) or Rachel McAdams, rumored to be playing Night Nurse, will be stopping by to greet the fans in Hall H. We do know of one other movie that has been confirmed to be presented today.

Last month, after Chris Pratt wrapped production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, director James Gunn confirmed that both he and Chris Pratt will be heading to SDCC, teasing that the first footage from this superhero sequel will be unveiled at the panel. The director also later teased that, thanks to some new anti-piracy technology, the footage will most likely not leak online, but we'll have to wait and see if that happens. It's worth noting that there haven't been any notable leaks thus far from the Con, so perhaps this technology is in fact legit.

As for the rest of the Marvel Studios panel, we're not sure what else will be unveiled. Marvel will be hosting a live stream all day long, up until 6 PM today, so perhaps we'll find out more about this panel through the live stream, but we'll have to wait and see. While we wait for more details about one of SDCC's biggest panels, take a look at these photos of Benedict Cumberbatch greeting the fans waiting in line outside of Hall H last night.
