Last month, Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk shot down a theory that Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston will return as Walter White this season. Oddly enough though, Vince Gilligan teased at PaleyFest last month, via The Hollywood Reporter, that they almost had a big Breaking Bad cameo in the Season 2 finale, Klick, which airs Monday, April 18 at 9 PM ET on AMC. But he wouldn't say which character was being eyed to return. TV Line has discovered a unique tweet from Twitter user Sirena6783, who appears to have solved this mystery.

While apparently on vacation, Sirena6783 discovered that all 10 episode titles for Better Call Saul Season 2 may in fact be an anagram that, when deciphered reads, "Frings Back," referring to the iconic Gus Fring, played by Giancarlo Esposito in Breaking Bad. Since Better Call Saul takes place before the events of Breaking Bad, a Gus Fring cameo certainly wouldn't be out of the question. But it remains to be seen how this character would even be used on the new series.

Gus Fring was the seemingly mild-mannered owner of the fast food chain Los Pollos Hermanos in Breaking Bad, who was actually a nefarious and ruthless drug kingpin whom Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) were forced to work for. Giancarlo Esposito appeared in 26 episodes as Gus Fring on Breaking Bad, until his now-iconic death in the Breaking Bad Season 4 finale, appropriately titled Face Off. During their PaleyFest panel, Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould wouldn't say why this special cameo didn't work out, nor did they confirm the character, but perhaps we'll get confirmation after the finale airs on Monday night.

While fans will have to wait to see iconic characters like Walter White, Jesse Pinkman and Gus Fring, Better Call Saul has showcased a few Breaking Bad characters throughout their two-season run. The show has previously featured characters such as Tuco (Raymond Cruz) and Don Hector 'Tio' Salamanca (Mark Margolis). We'll have to wait and see if Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould have plans for more Breaking Bad cameos in Better Call Saul Season 3, since the show was renewed last month.

Since Vince Gilligan never specifically mentioned Gus Fring at PaleyFest, there still may be hope that we'll get a surprise cameo from the Los Pollos Hermanos owner, especially since Vince Gilligan has used episode titles to tease plot points in the past. During Breaking Bad Season 2, the episode titles Seven-Thirty-Seven, Down, Over, ABQ foreshadowed the events of the season finale, ABQ, where a 737 plane went down over Albuquerque, New Mexico, where the show is set. It's possible that Vince Gilligan may have been pulling a fast one over fans at PaleyFest, and Gus Fring may in fact appear in the finale after all.

It's also possible that some of these Breaking Bad characters may show up in one of the show's "present-day" scenes, which shows Saul, disguised as a Cinnabon manager named Gene, living in Omaha, Nebraska. The cryptic plot description for the Better Call Saul season finale states that "Jimmy must make a hard choice, Mike takes control of matters, Hamlin delivers shocking news." Take a look at Sirena6783's tweet below, and chime in with your thoughts about this cameo that wasn't meant to be. Would you have liked to see Gus Fring again in Better Call Saul?
