AMC has just released the official trailer for season 6 of Better Call Saul. Serving as the final season of the Breaking Bad spinoff, season 6 will finally link up the prequel to the start of its predecessor's timeline while also providing answers about what ultimately happens with many Saul characters. You can check out the exciting trailer below.

The trailer clocks in at just under two minutes, but there's definitely a lot to unpack with the new footage. Business is picking up for Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk), as seen by the increase in clientele waiting for him at the nail salon. Lalo Salamanca (Tony Dalton) is seeking vengeance after he was betrayed by Nacho (Michael Mando), who's now running for his life. Howard Hamlin (Patrick Fabian) appears to be building a case against Jimmy. Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) and Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) are back to doing what they do best. And what will become of Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn), whose fate in the story is still a mystery?

Each season of the series has started with a black-and-white sequence of Jimmy McGill in the present day, living under his new identity as Cinnabon manager Gene Takavic. The show will provide some resolution as to what ends up happening with Gene as well. We probably shouldn't be on a happy ending, as it's hard to think of a way for Slippin' Jimmy to come out ahead this time given the circumstances he's found himself in, but Bob Odenkirk has teased a satisfactory conclusion to the story.

"I mean, people ask me if I like Saul Goodman. The answer is no. I like Jimmy McGill," Odenkirk told Empire. "Saul Goodman is the kind of person I would avoid, pretty much at all costs, for a million reasons. Not the least is fashion sense. Keeping those two people in the same body, and having them matter and connect up, can be a challenge for the writers and for me, but it's been a great, great effort to try to make it work. I can't wait for people to see this final season. There's so many different places it goes, and there's so much happening. It's amazing."

Better Call Saul Is Ending, But AMC Isn't Done With Giancarlo Esposito

AMC

On Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Giancarlo Esposito has shined as drug lord and Los Pollos Hermanos owner Gus Fring. His fate is already known to those who have seen Breaking Bad, but the spinoff series has helped fill in many of the blanks of the character's backstory.

Esposito's time as Gus comes to an end with the final season of Better Call Saul, but it was just recently announced that he'll be starring in the AMC series The Driver. Executive produced by Esposito, the series follows the actor as a cabbie whose life is turned upside down when he agrees to chauffeur a Zimbabwean gangster notorious for exploiting undocumented immigrants at southern U.S. ports.

Of the new series, Esposito said, “I am over the moon excited, enthused and inspired to be in collaboration with the stellar network and creative team of AMC. Thanks for believing in me. It’s great to be back home!”

Better Call Saul will premiere its sixth and final season on AMC on April 18, 2022.
