Resident Evil 6 currently has a September 12, 2014 release date, though it seems impossible that will happen since no production start date has been announced. Paul W.S. Anderson, who was confirmed to direct back in March 2013, gave an update regarding the project at the Beijing International Film Festival. There, he revealed a possible title for the sequel and confirmed that Resident Evil: Retribution star Bingbing Li will return as Ada Wong.

"I have to go home tomorrow for Rising Resident Evil. That's what I'm going to do. As you know, Bingbling is in the last movie and she will be there again."

It's possible that there was a mix-up in the director's translation, and that he actually meant the title is Resident Evil Rising, but either way, this is the first time we've heard the title being mentioned. The director also confirmed that the sequel will "definitely be in 3D." Milla Jovovich is returning as Alice, but no other cast members have been set at this time. When asked by a fan back in June when she thought Resident Evil 6 would hit theaters, Milla Jovovich had this to say.

The sequel was originally scheduled to begin shooting in the fall of 2013, but that never happened.

In related news, Sankei is reporting that Capcom plans to announce the Resident Evil 7 video game at this year's E3 convention.
