Green Lantern star Blake Lively has joined the cast of Hick for Lymelife director Derick Martini. She will play the mother of Chloe Moretz in this upcoming drama. Here's what she recently had to say about the character, revealing it's a much different role than her socialite character Serena van der Woodsen on Gossip Girl.

"It's completely different [from Gossip Girl]. I play a mother of a 13-year-old, a southern woman who's also a meth addict. So it's pretty different."

Derick Martini will direct from a script by Andrea Portes, which she adapted from her own novel. The story centers on a 13-year-old girl (Chloe Moretz) who runs away from her home in Nebraska and heads for Las Vegas. It isn't clear when production will start on Hick.

Blake Lively also cleared up some recent rumors that she will play a younger version of Carrie Bradshaw in a prequel to Sex and the City: The Movie.

"No, that's not true. I'm a huge fan of the show and a huge fan of Sarah Jessica Parker but unfortunately-well, fortunately-I'm starting this movie [Hick]"
