Lionsgate announced today that their upcoming romantic drama The Age of Adaline will be released on January 23, 2015. The project will go up against Universal's The Boy Next Door and Focus Features' Black Sea next year.

Blake Lively plays the title character in The Age of Adaline, who inexplicably stops aging one night after a terrifying accident. She keeps her ageless condition a secret as she goes on a number of adventures throughout the 20th Century. After spending years on her own, Adaline finds the love and courage to live a more fulfilling life. Harrison Ford, Ellen Burstyn, Amanda Crew, Michiel Huisman and Kathy Baker co-star.

Lee Toland Krieger (Celeste and Jesse Forever) directs from a screenplay by J. Mills Goodloe (Maverick, Conspiracy Theory) and Salvador Paskowitz (Surfwise), with Sidney Kimmel, Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi producing.

With the release date announced, the first trailer should be right around the corner, so stay tuned for the first footage from The Age of Adaline.
