Freestyle Digital Media (FDM) and Freestyle Releasing announce today that they have acquired the film, and set February 28th as the release date for Bottled Up, the moving family indie that stars Academy Award-winning actress Melissa Leo (The Fighter, Winter's Bone), Josh Hamilton (J. Edgar, American Horror Story) and Marin Ireland (Side Effects, I Am Legend).

Written and directed by Enid Zentelis (Evergreen), the film was produced by Zentelis, Amanda Beckner, Anthony Brandonisio, no_pereson|Riel Roch Decter, Erik Weigel, and Executive Produced by Leslie Urdang and Dean Vanech of Olympus Pictures - the production company behind Rabbit Hole and Beginners. The film is slated for both a national theatrical and VOD release.

Leo plays hopelessly hopeful Fay, mother to Sylvie (Ireland), who, many months after a car accident, continues to complain of back pain. After refusing physical therapy, it becomes clear to everyone but Fay that her daughter is addicted to pain killers. When earnest environmentalist Becket (Hamilton) moves to town, Fay quickly befriends him, hoping that he will be the solution to Sylvie's problems. As Becket finds himself further intertwined in their lives, he inadvertently helps Fay realize the depth of her family's problem. Before too long Fay's hand is forced, and she must decide whether to protect her daughter or find the happiness that she has long denied herself.

The deal was negotiated by Evan Crooke, CEO of Osiris Entertainment and Susan Jackson, CEO of Freestyle Digital Media. This is the first co-venture with Freestyle and Osiris under the umbrella of new theatrical releasing division Paragon Pictures, helmed by noted director Crooke, who had this to say in a statement.

"We at Osiris are excited to be able to share this amazing film with Freestyle. Bottled Up, from our catalog of films that are distributed to a large array of global broadcasters and range from thrillers to intense dramas and romantic comedies, is one of those rare films that brings all the elements of great film making into one memorable project. We hope this is the start of much successful collaboration with Freestyle on our growing and lauded slate of theatrical releases."

Susan Jackson had this to say in her statement.
