@2movieguys Because most of them probably went to see it anyway. That's how most movie boycotts turn out, they never work.

          nice turnout this weekend

it was just a tad underwhelming seeing how 'Ender's Game' played out but it was still a good movie

hella excited for 'Thor: The Dark World'

          it's already getting positive reactions

@john-m - yep, just like Pacific Rim didn't come close to matching its budget domestically, but it's still getting a sequel. By rule of thumb, when a film doubles its budget overall, the question of weather a film is (financially) successful or not is answered. If not for EG, there's always room for more cult classics :P

Nice to see so many critically acclaimed movies in the top 10 for a change.

@diaigma: I agree. I believe the Ender's Game has only been release in maybe five countries so far, so there's still the potential for the film to be a huge hit overseas, and maybe even garner a sequel, but domestically Ender's Game is going to be a disappointment. Judging by it's opening weekend numbers Ender's Game is going to take in about 80 million during it's domestic run. That means the film will easily earn it's budget back, and even make a little profit with the overseas market, but it's going to need lot of business to garner a sequel.

@mr-k - I'll see what the foreign numbers are like before I sign off on EG. That's what's kept Narnia going :P

Good bye, good potential sci-fi franchise.

Ender's Game is a pretty decent film, and should have made more money, which is unfortunate because with Thor coming out next weekend, and Catching Fire coming out in two weeks there won't be a lot of room or time for the film to make back it's estimated 110 million dollar budget at least domestically.

Also 12 Years a Slave is simply a emotionally powerful film, and the best film of the year so far.
