Breaking Bad star Jonathan Banks has signed on to co-star in the crime thriller Term Life alongside Vince Vaughn and Hailee Steinfeld.

The story centers on a criminal who designs heists and sells them to the highest bidder. After a botched job, a contract is put out on his life, causing him to get a life insurance policy for his estranged daughter (Hailee Steinfeld). When they realize that it takes 21 days for the policy to go into effect, the man and his daughter team up to keep him alive for an extra three weeks. No details were given for Jonathan Banks' character, although don't be surprised if he ends up playing one of the mafia hitmen who is gunning for the man's life.

Peter Billingsley (Couples Retreat) is directing from a script by A.J. Lieberman, based on the graphic novel he co-created with Nick Thornborrow. Vince Vaughn, Micah Mason, Victoria Vaughn and Kevin Scott Frakes are producing, with shooting scheduled to begin on March 1.

Jonathan Banks is best known for playing Mike Ehrmantraut on AMC's Breaking Bad, a role he will reprise for the upcoming spin-off Better Call Saul. He currently stars on NBC's Community.
