ABC News is reporting that rock singer Bret Michaels has won the reality TV show Celebrity Apprentice.

The show's host Donald Trump told Michaels that he was "hired" in Sunday's finale. He won $250,000 for his nominated charity, the American Diabetes Association.

In second place was actress Holly Robinson Peete. She also received $250,000 to go to her charity, the HollyRod Foundation that supports families facing a serious illness.

Michaels, 47, is the frontman of glam rock band Poison. He presently "suffers from diabetes and underwent an emergency appendectomy two weeks before suffering a potentially fatal brain hemorrhage on April 25."

After surviving the brain hemorrhage and he was making progress but was then recently readmitted to the hospital after having numbness on the left portion of his body.

On his site, BretMichaels.com, it said that he had suffered a mini-stroke last week and tests showed that he has a hole in his heart.

Michaels' health problems raised some questions over whether or not he would appear in the finale of the NBC TV show. However, that finale was largely shot before his health issues came about. He was present at Sunday's show which included live and taped sequences.
