Brian Dannelly will direct Glee's Chris Colfer in the high school comedy Struck by Lightning, which will film during Glee's summer hiatus.

Struck by Lightning will mark Chris Colfer's big-screen debut.

Chris Colfer also penned the script, which is said to be in the spirit of films penned by the late John Hughes.

Production will commence in the summer.
