Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance director Brian Taylor recently sent out an intriguing tweet which seemed to indicate that Nicolas Cage was playing both Johnny Blaze and the villain of the movie. Collider reached out to the director, who said that Nicolas Cage would be playing both Johnny Blaze and the Ghost Rider, where he will perform the stunt riding and the Ghost Rider actions himself. Here's Brian Taylor's original tweet:

"The dual role of blaze/zarathos will be a Nic Cage classic"

Brian Taylor revealed that Zarathos was the actual "spirit of vengeance" that takes over Johnny Blaze when he becomes the Ghost Rider. Here's what he told Collider below:

"Zarathos is the spirit of vengeance that inhabits John Blaze when he becomes Ghost Rider. Unlike the 1st movie, where the rider was stiffly acted out by various stunt guys, Nic Cage will be playing all the Ghost Rider stuff himself - and we are creating a whole physical language for the demon that is different from the human blaze."

It will surely be intriguing to see how Nicolas Cage pulls off the more physical aspects of his blazing alter-ego in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, especially with the highly kinetic directing duo of Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine at the helm.
