While we still have several months left to wait until Kit Harington returns as Jon Snow in Game of Thrones Season 7, fans who attended the Venice Film Festival this weekend got to see his new movie Brimstone. Today we have three new clips from this Western, which shows Kit Harington's character Samuel going to meticulous lengths to get his revenge. If that wasn't enough we also have a new photo gallery from Brimstone

The Playlist debuted these clips, the first of which shows Kit Harington dropping a noose over his unsuspecting enemy's head, while he sits in an outhouse. While the other two clips aren't quite as intense, it's clear that fans of dark Westerns will surely be drawn to Brimstone. The project doesn't have a U.S. distributor yet, but that may change soon as it continues on the festival circuit, with a screening at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) next week.

Liz (Dakota Fanning) has a quiet country life on a farm with her kind-hearted husband and children, but we immediately sense that things are too good to be true. One Sunday, a mysterious new reverend (Guy Pearce) gives his inaugural sermon, and Liz fills with terror; her past has come back to haunt her. Following the service, a local woman goes into labor on the church floor.

Through no fault of Liz's, the birth goes woefully wrong. When the woman's husband seeks revenge, the reverend comes to the rescue of Liz and her family - though he warns that punishment will soon befall her. The next day, the family's sheep are found slaughtered, Liz is sequestered, and her daughter is kidnapped. Thus begins a nigh-biblical sequence of events involving blood, fire, and an epic years-long odyssey spanning states and territories. The supporting cast includes Carice Van Houten, Carla Juri, Emilia Jones, William Houston, Ivy George and Naomi Battrick.

Martin Koolhoven directs from his own script, with this project marking his English-language directorial debut. We'll be sure to keep you posted about Brimstone's release date and other updates as it continues on the festival circuit. Until then, take a look at these clips and photos from Brimstone below.
