X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer took a break in production last night to attend a Q&A session at Fantasia Fest 2013 in Montreal, where production is taking place.

One of the hot topics he addressed was the end credit scene in The Wolverine that reveals Logan (Hugh Jackman) meeting Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Magneto (Ian McKellen). Since Professor X died in X-Men: The Last Stand, many were wondering how the character could return. The filmmaker offered the following justification on how the character comes back.

"He transferred his consciousness and could possibly construct a body around that consciousness."

The filmmaker also expressed his disappointment that Cyclops, played by James Marsden, couldn't come back because of his death in X-Men: The Last Stand. He also confirmed that, while Evan Peters is playing Quicksilver in X-Men: Days of Future Past, the character's sister, Scarlet Witch, does not appear in this movie.

In addition, Bryan Singer confirmed a report from last month that Josh Helman, who joined the cast in June, is playing a young William Stryker, and that the movie is being shot in native 3D.
