Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, two-time Academy Award® winner Ron Howard, and his versatile daughter Bryce Dallas Howard, will debut the film inspired by Canon's multi-platform "Long Live Imagination" campaign with the online world premiere.

When You Find Me will go live on www.youtube.com/imagination on December 16th at 12:00pm EST and will be accessible to the public until December 19th.

Consumers who visit the site will have a chance to view "when you find me" shot using Canon cameras including DSLR products, as well as an eight-minute "Project Imagin8ion Making Of" movie, a behind the scenes look throughout the process of selecting the winning photos and ultimately shooting the film.

Launched on May 22, photographers of all levels were invited to submit their most imaginative photographs based on a series of eight separate movie themes, each one a core tenet of storytelling, to ultimately inspire Ron Howard's short film. After nearly100,000 submissions, Ron Howard selected the eight winning photos and the film went into production in September with his daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard behind the camera.

"Canon tasked me with a true creative experiment and the end result is a beautiful film directed by Bryce that captures the images and inspiration of the eight photographers," said Ron Howard. "After the New York premiere at the American Museum of Natural History last month, it was really gratifying to see people get emotional about the film and I'm thrilled that the online community will now have the opportunity to see it."

"Our multi-platform 'Long Live Imagination' campaign and our partnership with Ron Howard has led to a very successful year for Canon, elevating the Canon brand to align its advanced technology with top-tier artistry," said Yuichi Ishizuka, executive vice president and general manager, Imaging Technologies & Communications Group, Canon U.S.A. When You Find Me champions the imagination of the masses and visually showcases the true creative power of Canon's wide array of cameras."

Grey New York, Canon's agency partner for over thirty years and Alliance, the entertainment and lifestyle marketing division of Grey, will be screening the film at select film festivals in 2012. Come 2013, When You Find Me will be the first user-generated Hollywood production ever eligible for an Academy Award nomination.

When You Find Me tells the story of two sisters whose childhood bond is tested by a tragedy they are too young to understand. Alternating between past and present, the short film is an emotional fable of two people coping with loss in very different ways, and what it takes to find peace within yourself and reconciliation with the ones you love.
